Rock for Moc - The little festival with the big opportunities!

Rock for Moc - the small festival that provides you with a great experience

RfM is a pluricultural festival with music, dance, theatre, role-play... well actually anything you could imagine! It is not the imagination of the organisers that sets the limits. We want it to be a stage for you, a place where you can express yourself and stretch out to your full height.

RfM is a meeting place for the fully-fledged professional and the enthusiastic amateur - and a festival which needs no barricades.

RfM is also an active festival for all participants. If you don't just want to passively consume then join our workshops and talk-shops, participate in all the crazy competitions, paint, dance... RfM wants to give you a surge of energy and a lust for life. We want you to get to know all your creative sides more deeply - sides you hardly knew you had.

RfM strongly emphasises the international perspective. The word 'Moc' in 'Rock for Moc' stands for Mozambique, one of the poorest countries in the world. Unfortunately the plight of this country is as much in the news as ever. Beside the fact that all the proceeds from the festival go to development aid in Mozambique we wish to make you aware that the greater part of humanity does not always enjoy a humane life. You will find themes relating to this in many parts of the festival.

RfM also has a very clear Christian profile and aims to be extremely open. We won't give you any answers but you will have the opportunity to reflect on the meaning of life. We also want to be a friendly festival without any chemical stimulants. At RfM you will have a guaranteed genuine drug- free experience and a feeling that you are fully OK as you are.

Your group is welcome to play at the festival but we wish to point out that all groups perform for free. However we do provide accommodation and meals.

RfM takes place at Finnåkers kursgård, which is a perfect site right in the heart of unspolied Bergslagen. The festival always takes place the first weekend in September as an energizing break before autumn comes. The festival is arranged by The Swedish Christian Youth in the diocese of Västerås with support from the diocese.

Rock for Moc was awarded a prize in 2000 by the Cultural Council of the Church of Sweden.
